A significant change that will bring considerable advantages to the citizens of Rozzano, both in terms of energy efficiency and in environmental terms - continues the mayor - The goal is in fact to create a state-of-the-art infrastructure able to produce all the necessary thermal energy to the needs of the users connected to it, with particular attention to the environment. An initiative that also wants to be a virtuous example of collaboration between public and private in synergy towards sustainability objectives ".
An integrated energy management and upgrading system, thermal and electrical, of 29 buildings headed by the Administration, with the conversion and modernization of the two city district heating networks and ALER. The proposal guarantees the correct conditions of thermohygrometric comfort, the reliability of the services, the architectural and technical-functional quality of the systems, and the compliance with the legislation on health and safety protection.
For the district heating network, there will be the redevelopment of the thermal power plant, which will be strengthened and split across the territory, bringing it up to 77.4 MWt installed on 3 sites, decentralizing the production also with a view to expand the network. The plants, in addition to new high-efficiency boilers, provide the installation of cogeneration systems for a total of about 12 MWel, heat pumps and storage systems. It’s also planned the complete replacement of the ALER network (12.2 km), the conclusion of a ring on the city network and a further expansion towards new municipal and private connections.
The 3 plants, in addition to being functional to improve production and distribution efficiency, will be designed and built with a positive environmental impact, enhancing the neighborhoods where they will be placed. For Antas, therefore, we are talking about a great result from an environmental and social point of view. With this contract that aims to enhance the territory, Antas will be able to improve the economic and comfort conditions for the people of the council houses in the area.
The General Manager of Antas, Paolo Gianola, states “I was taught that the quality of life depends on the conditions of comfort that define everyday life. This is the core business of the company, and it is part of the goals of the 2030 agenda. First, we are citizens of the world. Rozzano is a great result from an environmental but above all social point of view: contributing to the improvement of living conditions fills ANTAS's mission with meaning”.
This is the strength of the project, thanks to the multi-year duration of the concession: bringing value to Rozzano by recovering existing infrastructures and offering a better service to citizens, guaranteeing environmental benefits, also in anticipation of a national strategy for urban areas as an important element for the promotion of environmentally sustainable policies.
Fabrice Liautaud, Manager of the Industry Market for Antas, concludes: "To accompany the energy transition, the efficient district heating of Rozzano must, with a view to developing a circular economy, intercept and adequately exploit the opportunities offered by all available heat sources on the territory, as waste heat from production activities, from the tertiary sector as well as from renewable sources. " The contract marks an important professional milestone and it is a sign of the constant growth of the Group.
